IS THE COMPANY LICENSED TO PERFORM HOME IMPROVEMENTS?

The State of Maryland requires that any individual paid to perform home alterations or repairs must be licensed by the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC). Anyone you hire should be asked to provide proof of licensure. You can also check for an active license on the Maryland DLLR web site. Though licensing does not guarantee that craftsmanship and customer service will meet with your expectations, it does ensure that the company meets certain minimum requirements including adequate experience, knowledge of home improvement law, financial solvency, and liability insurance.
